The winegrower

MICHEL FABRE – THE WINEGROWER
 
Third-generation winegrower Michel was treading upon the stony soil of his native region of Minervois from a young age. This early experience soon blossomed into a fascination for the wine world leading him to visit most wine regions in France and Latin America.

He regards the terroir as a major component of a wine’s typicity. He is especially driven by tradition, a passion for the craft and a meticulous approach. He always compares wine to rugby because his work is just as gritty, authentic, intuitive and as much a feat of human endeavour as the sport.

The consultant

STÉPHANE DERENONCOURT – THE CONSULTANT
 
This big personality has carved a niche in the art of learning to understand the vine and wine which he calls the ‘education in the field’. He has observed, tasted and come to understand vines and wine through a multitude of experiences at various appellations and sheer hard work.

He is fascinated by the notions of ‘terroir” and tradition. Our consultant is inspired by the Burgundy model and has developed his own viticultural practices based on the qualities of minerality and freshness.

His approach is a combination of common sense, respect for a manual craft he knows from practice and tasting as a yardstick for making decisions.
